About
BASELOAD — Trend Tracker
What this is
BASELOAD is a trend tracker covering energy, economics, and AI. Rather than summarizing the day's headlines, it reads them through data and context to answer one question: what is changing, and why does it matter? Every piece aims to supply the background, comparisons, and figures you need to follow a trend — not just the latest development.
What the English edition covers
The Korean site publishes across four areas — energy, economics and management, AI trends, and AX (AI transformation). This English edition is narrower on purpose: it carries the AI and AX reporting, where the material travels across languages without losing its value. Korea-specific energy and electricity-market analysis stays on the Korean site, because much of it depends on domestic regulation and tariff structures.
- AI Trend — models, agents, policy, and market movement
- AX (AI transformation) — hands-on work with APIs, local LLMs, and agents: what we built, what broke, and what the specs actually say
You can browse everything published in English on the English home page.
Editorial principles
- Evidence first — claims carry figures, examples, and sources. Unverified facts are not stated as settled.
- Context always — a number alone means little, so comparisons, trends, and implications come with it.
- A point of view — pieces converge on one core message instead of listing facts.
- Not investment advice — market and economy pieces are informational and never recommend buying or selling a specific security.
Who writes it
BASELOAD is an independent one-person publication with no corporate sponsorship. The editor (pen name "Baseload Editor") handles everything from topic selection through research, analysis, writing, and editing. The perspective comes from years of tracking the energy, economics, and AI beats, plus day-to-day practical work with data and AI tooling — the AX pieces are generally written from systems the editor has actually built and run. The legal name is withheld for privacy; the editorial process and the correction channel below are what the publication offers in its place as accountability.
How a piece gets made
- Research — primary sources are checked first: official specifications, filings, institutional data, original reporting. Only verified facts make it in.
- Evidence — key figures and comparisons are shown as tables or charts, with sources named and linked.
- Review — a separate verification pass before publication checks figures and quotations against their sources.
- Corrections — when an error or gap surfaces after publication, the text is amended and the updated date is shown on the piece.
If you spot a factual error or something that needs adding, please tell us — through the comments at the foot of any piece, or by email via the contact page. Reports are reviewed and reflected in the text.
